What type of situations would exist where the installed load is greater than the operating load?

This would occur when the spring is specifiedfor upward travel or in other words, upward movement. An example of the loadbecoming less during operation would be in a steamed line where in our initialstage our pipe would be filled with water and subsequent heating of thatpipeline would produce steam; the steam havingless density than water would produce a lighter load at that location.
