For base type constant supports there will often be lateral loads due to friction as the pipe moves. Are there lateral load limits provided or is there some way to eliminate such load transfer?

There should be a slidingagent between the base type support and upper structure such as a slide plateor grease, or something of that nature. That will allow the upper structure tomove axially or laterally without affecting the operation of the base-typeconstant.
