In general terms, theamount of vertical deflection that can be accommodated by the variable springsis dependent upon the spring rate. In practicality, PTP-1 is used for travelsone-quarter inch or less, PTP-2 for travels are one-half inch or less, PTP-4 isone-inch or less, PTP-6 two-inches or less, and PTP-8 is three-inches or less.In terms of horizontal deflection, all variable spring assemblies canaccommodate a maximum of + or – 4 degrees. Therefore the magnitude of thehorizontal deflection will depend upon the overall length of the entireassembly.
