Over 1200 cryogenic insulated pipe supports were designed for a natural gas refinery in Abu Dhabi. The supports range from 1″ to 30″ in diameter and have 30 lb. polyurethane foam (PUF) insulation. These cold shoes are comprised of a vapor barrier, an aluminum jacket and a carbon steel base. An ice test was performed on all the supports prior to shipment.

Cryogenic Trunnions with Permali® Blocks Designed for Ethylene Loss Recovery Lines
PT&P designed cryogenic trunnion supports for ethylene loss recovery lines at a plant in Texas. The trunnions were fabricated from 2″ dia. stainless steel pipes and have a maximum height of 3′. They include 6″ x 6″ permali® blocks measuring 2″ thick each. The permali® block isolator is a laminated phenolic material from layers of wood impregnated under vacuum and heat with synthetic resin. The temperature range for these supports is from ambient to -300°F.

Custom designed cryogenic pipe supports were fabricated for an LNG facility in Africa. The shoes range in diameter from 30″ to 72″, 45″ to 88″ in height, 42-1/2″ to 85-1/2″ in width, and 28″ to 33″ in length. The insulation is a high density polyurethane foam (PUF) ranging from 5″ to 6″ thick. The shoe and bearing plates were fabricated from carbon steel with a HDG finish. The jacket was fabricated from aluminized steel and includes a vapor barrier.

Cryogenic and Axial Stop Cold Shoes for an LNG Facility
Piping Technology and Products supplied these cryogenic and axial stop cold shoes for an LNG facility in Australia. A total of 28 assemblies were fabricated with carbon steel, stainless steel and Micarta® G-10 insulation blocks. They were a wide range of lengths from 24″ to 36″, widths from 6 3/4″ to 30″ and heights from 9″ to 10 1/4″. The pipe shoes will support pipes ranging in diameter from 6″ to 48″ NPS in cryogenic temperatures as low as -162°C. A special paint system was used for the carbon steel components to resist rust. PMI testing was performed on the stainless parts prior to shipping.
274 Custom Hot Pipe Shoes Rush Delivered in Three Weeks
We provided a quantity of 274 custom designed hot shoes on an expedited basis to a factory in Arizona. While the normal delivery time on a typical order might be 6-8 weeks, Piping Technology provided these pipe shoes on a 3 week delivery time. The high temperature pipe supports include clamping material fabricated from carbon steel with a red oxide finish, a polyethylene slide base with stainless steel slide plates, high density calcium silicate insulation and an overlapping galvanized sheet metal jacket. The pipe shoes are designed to accommodate 4″-8″ pipes and have an insulation thickness of 2″-3″ and the base measures 11″ to 14″ in width, and 6″ to 15″ in length. The hot shoes are designed for temperatures ranging from 40° F to 600° F. The insulation for these supports is a combination of high density calcium silicate with high strength inserts.

These high temperature pipe supports have a 25″ outside diameter, and were custom designed for a granular activated carbon manufacturing plant in Hawaii. They are fabricated from A-36 carbon steel with 10″ thick high density calcium silicate insulation. The hot shoes were designed for a 4″ diameter pipe-line, temperatures up to 1,800°F and an operating load of 1,000 lb. Standard Q.C. and dimensional tests were performed prior to an expedited shipment.

Cold Insulated Pipe Anchors with Axial Stops
Cryogenic pipe supports, ranging in diameter from 6″ to 38″, were designed to support and insulate piping in an LNG receiving and regassification plant. The “cold shoe anchors” were designed for temperatures down to -260°F and a load range of 26,000 lb. to 210,000 lb. A combination of high density polyurethane foam (PUF) and Permali® was used for the insulation. The center stops that are welded to the process pipe were built from 304 stainless steel, and carbon steel was used for the remainder of the shoe.

Pre-Insulated Pipe Supports with 12" Thick Insulation Designed for a 49" High Temperature Line
PT&P fabricated pre-insulated pipe supports from galvanized carbon steel designed for a 49″ diameter pipe and temperatures in excess of 1600°F. The insulation is 12″ thick and composed of lime, silica and reinforcing fibers. This type of insulation features exceptional strength and extremely low water absorption. It is essentially dust-free, contains no asbestos and is a very good material for structural insulation inserts. This “hot shoe” will be used in a cat cracker unit at a refinery in Alabama.
