PT&P custom designed seventy-eight figure 2000 heavy duty pipe saddles for two 24″ insulated ductile iron pipelines. The two pipelines are routed beneath a 650′ bridge crossing over a river in upper New York State. The insulation is 3″ thick with high density polyethylene jacketing. Axial movements due to expansion can approach 3″. In order for the jacketing to avoid being damaged when displacements occur, the saddles have been lined with polished stainless steel.

This custom pipe clamp will be used in conjunction with a hydraulic snubber to restrain pipe movement during extremely high disturbances. It is designed to support the pipe where two heavy duty flanges join. The yoke, lugs, and strap sections of the clamp are carbon steel, and the clamp bolts and load bolt/pin are stainless steel.
The outer diameter of the clamp section is 16″, and the inner diameter is 10″. The upper lugs are fabricated from 3/4″ thick plate with a 2-1/4″ diameter load bolt. The maximum load for this custom clamp is 68,000 lb.

These beam clamp assemblies are fabricated from carbon steel with a hot-dipped galvanized finish. The clamp is designed to support a pipe that is 10″ in diameter and is capable of loads up to 3,600 lb. The rod measures 7/8″ in diameter.
The function of the beam clamp assembly is to support the pipe and allow it to swing. The clamp requires no welding which allows for a quick and easy installation.

Piping Technology & Products, Inc. fabricated 3-piece pipe clamps used to support 97″ diameter stainless steel duct work. This duct work is being added to a refinery for an expansion project in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Each section of the clamp assembly is formed from a continuous plate and gussets are added at each of the bolt locations for increased strength and rigidity. Due to the ducts having a relatively thin wall, these clamps are designed wider than necessary in an effort to reduce localized stresses on the duct work. The lower section of each clamp is formed to create a 150° cradle. This acts as a cradle by supporting the duct without inducing extra pressure, which might cause the duct wall to buckle or bend.
The upper sections are formed from 1/2″ thick by 12″ wide bar stock, whereas the lower sections are formed from 1/2″ thick by 18″ wide. All three sections are rolled to an inner radius of 48 1/2″ and the welded gusset plates are all 1/2″ thick. The upper sections are formed at 105° each, and the upper load bolt is 2″ in diameter while the six clamping bolts are 1 1/2″ in diameter.
The maximum load to be carried by these pipe clamps is 16,888 lb. Each pipe clamp will be used in conjunction with a variable spring support to accommodate movements as high as 2 1/4″.

Piping Technology & Products, Inc. Designed and Fabricated Structural Pipe Hangers with Megalug® Pipe Attachments.
These are carbon steel structural supports designed for 6″, 10″ and 12″ ductile iron pipe. They are hot dip galvanized to protect against corrosion and will be used in conjunction with hydraulic snubbers. The hydraulic snubbers are used to protect against axial shock loading, as well as providing vertical weight support.
Each support utilizes a Megalug pipe attachment to eliminate the need for field welding. The Megalug® attachments are designed to “bite” into the sides of the pipe providing an attachment point for the flanges on the fabricated clamp.
The 6″ supports are designed for a maximum vertical load of 3,770 pounds, while the 10″ and 12″ supports are designed for a maximum vertical load of 11,630 pounds. All of the supports are built for an overall height of 55-1/8″ from the upper support steel to pipe centerline.

Piping Technology & Products, Inc. fabricated a Cantilevered Canopy for the entrance of an International State Department building. The Canopy was fabricated using ten 20-foot long girders. These girders were connected by sixty-three structural steel members. Together, they formed the 80-foot width of the Canopy. The wooden sheathing and architectural cladding that is supported by the canopy’s inner steel structure was installed at the construction site.
The fabricated girders and structural members combined weight exceeds 33,000 lb.
Piping Technology & Products also supplied the steel framing that supports the sheathing and cladding, roof drains and piping installed inside the canopy.

Piping Technology & Products, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, Pipe Shields, Inc. designed and fabricated many structural pipe hangers for an on-going project to rebuild the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The pipe hangers are made out of A-36 carbon steel and galvanized to withstand corrosion from the ocean waters and rough winds. These pipe supports will be welded to Pipe Shields’ C Model Anchor Plates, which are set in a cast concrete to the bottom cavity of the bridge.
Supports pictured utilize friction holding devices known as MegaLug®, which permit attachment to the pipes without welding. These supports were designed and fabricated to include improvements in regard to strength and durability to withstand high loads during earthquakes and other seismic events.
